Birds in Bulgaria - Steppe Buzzards Степен мишелов (Buteo Buteo Vulpinus).
Very nice picture. The colors and pattern on this one remind me of a long-legged buzzard (buteo rufinus).
actually there is lil mistake in title is not Common Buzzard, but I didnt fix it , is not rufinus can you see dark tail stripe ,bird is Steppe Buzzards (Buteo Buteo Vulpinus) ,much smaller then long legged ,I will correct title ,thank you so much
What a lovely action shot. The detail of its markings is quite fantastic. I love the way the tail is spread and how you captured the fluffyness of the legs. The colors are so soothing and pretty. The detail on his face and feet is also amazing, I can see the texture of the toes and all the nostril on the bill. His eye seems really focused, too, which makes for a nice, chilling shot. Impressive work.
That's Not a Buzzard; That looks More like a Harpy Eagle
Hawks are called Buzzards in many parts of Europe.

Buzzard, lol, not even, but great shot!
Then again, maybe that's what you call them in Bulgaira?
yes in Bulgaria ,this is common buzzard (butteo butteo) we have 2 more subspecies , as I know there is some other bird with same name , but they look very different !Few other people told me that ))
I didn't think so either at first, but I did a google image search for "bulgarian buzzard" and that's what they look like. /shrug
Yeah, just that where I come from that is not what we call a buzzard, and we do refer to a few different species of vultures as buzzards. That right there is what we would call a raptor; either a kite, or kestrel or a smaller falcon of some sort. Very nice shot though my friend.
