I'm very impressed by how much of the bird your photo shows us: the wings, the head and top of the back, the legs and claws... it's almost like you asked him to pose for you and he obliged! :thanks:

Stunning, How are you liking the 400 2.8?, Have you tried the 600mm f4 in comparison. Im looking at upgrading :)

400 2.8 much better :)))) with 1.4 TC you have almost 600 f4 same quality on f5 like sharpness , I had before 500 f4 IS , and for me 400 and 300 2.8 are best canon lenses for wildlife :)))

ah awesome, thanks for the swift reply, What about the weight is it easy to get used to, I had a go with my friends 300mm 2.8 is and I can hand hold that quite easy, very similar weight to my current set up of a 70-200 is ii and 2x converter.
